  • Robin Webb - Animator Workshop

    Thu 19 Jan 2023

We welcomed Robin Webb, who is an animator, in to school to deliver some workshops to the children this week. The children were fully immersed in the careers of animators, got hands-on with motion images and were able to experiment with the processes of modelling animation - just like Wallis and Gromit were made. Robin showed the children how to use a simple app on a mobile device to create their own mini movie with modelling clay.

  • Grace Baa-ling

    Fri 18 Nov 2022

Here at SPS, we have been part of an exciting art project created by artist Deepa Mann-Kler. The flock 'Illuminated Sheep' have been and are inspired by the Gospels’ themes of light, sheep and pilgrimage.

A herd of life-size sheep lit up in bright colours flocked to Bamburgh Castle to launch a visual arts trail celebrating the homecoming of the Lindisfarne Gospels in the North East. Some of our children were lucky to be invited to Bamburgh Castle to see the exhibition before anyone else and we were so excited to have one of the sheep visit us in school for a few weeks. The children named her Grace Baa-ling.

  • Reduce Reuse Recycle!

    Thu 17 Nov 2022 Admin

Our clothing bank at school has so far recycled an incredible 394kg of clothing that would have otherwise been wasted or gone to landfill.

This is a great time to remind you that we still need your old clothes (in bags please) to recycle - every kg helps us fundraise and it all goes towards our fantastic educational visits and events which the children enjoy so much.

It's a great time of year for a clear out so if your child brings in a bag of clothes to recycle we have stickers available in the office to thank them.

Our next collection date is 23rd November so please get recycling!
