Animation Workshop Spring 2023

As part of our Animation unit in Information Technology Class 3 had an immersive day with expert animator Robin. 

Class 3 had a wonderful time exploring animation through the ages! We discovered that animation is not a modern creation, but has been used as a form of art and entertainment since the Stone Age, where images were given the illusion of movement through flickering flames. 

We explored a Victorian form of entertainment called a Zoetrope, this cylindrical spinner can produce the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of drawings or photographs showing progressive phases of that motion.

Class 3 then had the opportunity to create their own short animation movie in groups using modelling clay and stop motion software.
