Receiving our pen licences

Receiving our pen licence is a big deal and a real milestone at Seahouses Primary School!

We work incredibly hard to ensure our presentation is of a very high standard and once we are consistently joining our writing in a legible and fluent manner we know we are ready for... 'Judge Allen!'  It's a special process. We need to make an appointment with our head teacher and peer literacy leads in Years 5 and 6. We take evidence supporting our applications for pens, from all areas of the curriculum, and explain why we feel we are ready. If they judge our work to be of an aspirational standard then we are awarded our pens and a special certificate.
