28.09.22- Wilderness Wednesday Orienteering and Compass Skills
Today we learnt how to orientate a map and use it accurately. This supports of fieldwork skills in Geography.
We then had a go at using the aerial photograph of the school to locate different points. Unfortunately, the rain got too hard for us to continue but this will be something we will continue to practise throughout the academic year.
We then went into the hall to have a go at using a compass. The children were able to identify the four points on the compass and some of them were beginning to use the directional language in meaningful contexts. Mrs Neale was very impressed as this is something she finds tricky at times!
