Local Walk

Reception and Year 1 children went on a local walk of Seahouses today, asking the question - What is around the corner? 

We discussed their local area, who lived where, the type of different houses, businesses and people that work and live in Seahouses. As well as a geography focus we discussed seasonal change and encouraged the children to use their senses, exploring what they could see, hear, smell and touch.

The children loved showing Miss Ellis the various landmarks and places that are of interest to them in Seahouses. It was really interesting to see first hand how knowledgeable the children were of where they live and how much information they were able to give me including directions and using positional language!
