01.05.26 Bikeability
Class 3 had a fantastic time participating in their Bikeability Level 1 training today. Under the expert guidance of our instructors, Felix and Chris, the children gained essential practical skills and a deeper understanding of cycling safety. Before hitting the road, they mastered the ABCDD check to ensure their bikes were in top condition:
- Air: Checking tire pressure.
- Brakes: Ensuring they stop effectively.
- Chain: Checking it is oiled and secure.
- Direction: Checking that handlebars and the front wheel are aligned.
- Drop: Giving the bike a small "drop" to listen for loose parts.
At Seahouses Primary, we want our children to be active and independent, and cycling is a fantastic way to achieve both.
By taking part in this training, Class 3 aren't just learning to ride; they are building resilience when they find a manoeuvre tricky, independence as they take responsibility for their equipment, and a healthy attitude toward physical exercise. Most importantly, it lays the groundwork for life-long safety, ensuring that as they grow, they have the skills to explore our beautiful coastal environment confidently and securely.
A huge "well done" to all of Class 3 for their perseverance and enthusiasm throughout the session. You clearly showed our ASPIRE values in action!
