  • We have adopted a Daft as a Brush ambulance

    Wed 12 Oct 2011
We were invited by Mr Brian Burnie, who runs the 'Daft as a Brush' Cancer Patient Care Charity, to adopt one of the charities ambulances. The children had to name then design the back of the bus. We chose the name Puffin Express as a puffin is our school emblem. The children from Classes 2 & 3 drew their designs and we all chose the best bits to make up our design. Soon we will see the finished bus and it will start transporting patients quickly afterwards.
We have also designed a booklet for each patient that travels in the ambulance to read and they will receive a christmas card from the school too.
We are very proud to be part of the Daft as a Brush Patient Care Charitable Trust.

  • Class 3 visit Kelso races

    Wed 04 May 2011
On Wednesday 4th May Class 3 visited kelso races. They had a wonderful day learning about the course, how high the fences are and how far out the horses jump. They worked out how big the parade ring needed to be for the number of horses in the race. The children saw the weigh in room and the jockey's silks. Then after a well deserved lunch they watched the first two races. Everybody thanked the people at Kelso Races for our special invitation and we made a book to send to them about our day.

    Fri 07 May 2010
On Friday 7th May 2010 we were invited to join Dana at Seahouses Methodist Chapel for an evening ofsong and entertainment. Dana requested that our children sing songs with her and on their own. We sang two songs on our own, then we joined with Seahouses Middle School and the Girl's Brigade to sing further songs.
It was a brilliant show and the evening ended with everyone singing Dana's Eurovision song contest winning song "All kinds of everthing". Dana signed autographs and personally wrote to congratulate our children on their singing.
