27.03.26 St John Ambulance
We welcomed a special visit from Wendy and Iain from St John Ambulance, who provided us with an empowering and potentially life-saving workshop. The session began with the fundamentals of emergency response, ensuring every one of us knows exactly when and how to call 999. The instructors then moved into the practicalities of CPR, carefully explaining the vital differences in technique required for adults, children, and infants. To put our new knowledge into practice, many of us had the opportunity to perform chest compressions on specialized training dummies.
By the end of the day, we walked away with more than just facts; we gained the confidence to stay calm and take action in a crisis. The session also featured an insightful Q&A session, where we explored the rewarding world of volunteering and careers with St John Ambulance. We learned new skills and the confidence and "can do" spirit needed to act in an emergency.
