19.03.25 Switched On Rail Safety
Class 3 had the fantastic opportunity to take part in an exciting live assembly hosted by Network Rail, titled ‘Switched On for Every Journey’. The assembly was designed to teach our pupils essential rail safety skills in a fun, engaging, and interactive way.
During the session, the children joined Arlo on his journey to visit his grandparents, which helped bring rail safety to life. The pupils explored various key topics, including safety signs, where they consolidated their understanding of the meanings behind different signs around the railway.
They also learned how to stay ‘Switched On’ and safe in various scenarios, whether at level crossings or while waiting at the station. Importantly, the children were taught how to spot ‘Switched Off’ behaviour and the significance of being aware of their surroundings.
The children went on to design some rail safety posters.
It's always wonderful to see our students so engaged and learning vital safety lessons that they can apply in real-life situations.
