Welcome

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the children, their parents and carers, families, friends and members of the local community who are central to the life of Seahouses Primary School. Our whole school community values the contribution every child brings to our school which makes our school a happy and harmonious place to learn and work.

Our mission statement is: ‘Aspiring to be the best we can be’ and this sentiment underpins all we do at SHPS. So many changes have happened since I joined the school in September 2015. Together we have grown as a school community. We are ambitious for our children of all ages and of all abilities. Working in partnership with parents, carers and children, our hardworking and committed staff strive to help each pupil become the best they can be both personally and academically. I will always strive to promote and support excellent practice within our school.

We work hard to create a safe environment in which our children feel able to challenge themselves and make mistakes, both of which are an important part of learning. Through our teaching of moral values, we provide the foundations for our children to develop into tolerant, committed and confident citizens. This will be our third year as a Primary school and our third year in our new school. I am extremely proud of the direction in which the school is heading. Rapid progress is evident and the children demonstrate daily their enthusiasm to learn. This was confirmed in our Ofsted inspection report in March 2023.

At SHPS we welcome parents as partners so that, together, we can promote high standards of learning and behaviour. Thank you for choosing our school. Please explore our website. By viewing the pages and galleries displaying our activities, we hope you will have an insight into what we have to offer your children at Seahouses. What our website cannot show you, however, is our supportive and encouraging ethos and the sense of excitement our children have developed for learning. If you would like to see this for yourself, appointments can be made through the school office.
