  • Sports Relief

    Fri 21 Mar 2014

Children and staff had an energetic start to the day on Friday 21st March- completing a 'fun run' around the school field which included running, dancing, walking and skipping. This was to support Sports Relief as children were asked to dress in sports clothes and donate £1.

Later in the day, each class participated in a range of sporting activities such as penalty shoot out, long jump and dancing.

A big thank you to Mr Jackson, our PE teacher for organising the activities on this day.

We raised a total of £88 which is fantastic. Comic relief spends half of all the money that is raised for Sports Relief in the UK to help a wide range of people, from vulnerable young carers to isolated older people and many others. The other half is used to help transform lives in some of the world's poorest countries.

Local Playwright, Mrs Rachel Shiel kindly visited our school on Friday 7th March to answer our questions that we had prepared about her work and passion of stories.

Rachel has worked on various well-known shows such as Postman Pat, Fifi and the Flower Tots, Mike the knight, Roary the Racing Car and Cloudbabies to name just a few!

  • World Book Day!

    Wed 05 Mar 2014
    World Book Day!
We had a fantastic day on Thursday- everybody had made such an effort to dress up as their favourite book character. We had lots of activities planned for the day that included designing a book mark, writing book reviews, designing a front cover with the blurb and a 'drop everything and read'. Each class has also made some brilliant 'big-art' which will be displayed in the small hall, so keep a look out for this!
Well done everybody on making it such a fun day!

  • Teaching Trees visit at Kyloe Woods

    Wed 05 Mar 2014

Years 2,3 and 4 have enjoyed visits to Kyloe Woods- Detchant. The children learned about the different types of trees, animal habitats and the importance of woodland management.

The children worked together to build a fantastic den from branches which was big enough for the whole group to squeeze inside!
