Children in Need Day
Fri 16 Nov 2012For Children in Need Day this year we asked that everyone come to school in their pyjamas or onesies and bring their teddy bear. The children all brought £1 to donate to the appeal. We also asked them to bring in any spare change so we all could spell out Children in Need on the hall floor and draw Pudsey. All through the day we had our usual lessons punctuated by music and dancing in the small hall. In the afternoon our friends from Busy Bees Nursery joined our Reception Class for some games, then Classes 2 and 3 had a short disco in the Hall. A busy funday was had by all and we raised £178.61, which has been paid into the appeal fund. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a memorable one for our children. -
Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes
Wed 14 Nov 2012We have had a really good response to our appeal for Christmas Shoe boxes to be sent to disadvantaged children abroad by the charity The Samaritan's Purse. The appeal is called Operation Christmas Child and our Parents and children have brought in shoeboxes packed with gifts for a child that probably would not receive anything at Christmas time. We have been told that our boxes this year went to Bosnia and Croatia. -
Our jars were on TV for Children in Need on Friday 16th November
Tue 13 Nov 2012Children in Need in our region came from Alnwick Garden on Friday 16th November 2012. Our school was asked to decorate jars so the Alnwick Garden can put tea lights inside them and create a spectacular display on the cascades. These were the opening shots of the BBC coverage from our region. The children from Class 3 all brought jars into school and have spent time decorating them with glass paint with the Children in Need logos and plenty spots! Our jars will join jars from other schools in the region to make a large display.
