  • Kema Kay - Rap Workshops

    Fri 26 Nov 2021

Year 5 & 6 have attended three workshops over the last few weeks with New Writing North's, Kema Kay, who has worked with them since 2017.

Kema helped and advised the children to make their own rap, 'Similarities & differences' which you can view by clicking here.

The children wanted to get their message across that we should celebrate being unique and we are all perfect just the way we are.

This Anti-Bullying Week, on the lead up to Odd Sock Day, the children have been working in collaboration with the Anti-Bullying Alliance and their chosen theme of 'One Kind Word'.

They discussed a lot about what bullying can look and sound like and re-embedding our STOP policies - Several Times On Purpose and Start Telling Other People.

They enjoyed coming in in their odd socks to mark the end of a great week.

    Mon 15 Nov 2021

During their cookery week at school, Year 5 & 6 have been learning important kitchen health and safety and different cookery techniques with Mrs Annison.

Year 5 made healthy pancakes, using the skills: weighing, mixing, chopping and frying.

Year 6 made healthy soup, using the skills: peeling, chopping, frying and boiling.

They all prepared their own ingredients and enjoyed their hard earned produce at the end of their sessions.
